Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with Direct Fleet Dispatch. Can't find your answer? Reach out and we will help.
You tell us what you need to ship — origin, destination, freight type, and timeline. We tap into our vetted carrier network to find the best match for your load based on equipment, route experience, and availability. Once you approve the carrier selection, we handle the booking and coordination so your freight moves on schedule.
We handle virtually every type of commercial freight: full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), refrigerated and frozen goods, flatbed and oversized loads, expedited shipments, hazmat, and specialized equipment like auto haulers and tankers. If it moves by truck, we can find the right carrier for it.
Every carrier in our network is verified through FMCSA for active operating authority, insurance coverage, and safety ratings. We check their CSA scores, inspection histories, and cargo insurance minimums. We also verify driver qualifications, equipment condition, and on-time delivery track records before adding any carrier to our approved list.
We cover all 48 contiguous United States with a network of regional and long-haul carriers. Whether your freight needs to move across town or across the country, we have carriers positioned to handle it. We also coordinate cross-border shipments to and from Canada and Mexico with properly authorized carriers.
For standard lanes and equipment types, we can typically present carrier options within one to two hours. Expedited and hot-shot shipments can be covered even faster. For specialized or oversized loads that require specific permits or equipment, allow 24 hours for us to source the right carrier at the best rate.
Yes. We provide real-time visibility on your shipments from pickup to delivery. You will receive status updates at key milestones — pickup confirmation, in-transit check-ins, and delivery confirmation. For time-sensitive freight, we can provide more frequent updates or GPS-based tracking depending on the carrier's capabilities.
Our rates depend on factors like distance, freight type, equipment needed, lane demand, and timing. We provide transparent, all-in quotes with no hidden fees. Because we work with a large carrier network, we are able to offer competitive market rates. Contact us with your shipment details for a fast, no-obligation quote.
Yes. We work with carriers who hold current hazmat certifications, proper endorsements, and the required insurance coverage. Our team ensures all DOT and EPA regulations are followed, including proper placarding, documentation, and route planning for hazardous materials transport.
All carriers in our network carry cargo insurance. If damage occurs, we assist you through the claims process from start to finish. We help you document the damage, file the claim with the carrier's insurance, and follow up until it is resolved. Our carrier vetting process is designed to minimize these situations in the first place.
Getting started is simple. You can request a quote through our website, call us directly, or send us an email with your shipment details. There are no sign-up fees or long-term contracts required. Once we understand your shipping needs, we can start finding carriers for your very first load.
Absolutely. We work with shippers and brokers of all sizes — from small businesses shipping a few loads per month to large enterprises moving freight daily. Every customer gets the same level of service, carrier quality, and attention to detail regardless of volume.
Full Truckload (FTL) means your freight fills an entire trailer and moves directly from origin to destination without stops. Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) is for smaller shipments that share trailer space with other freight, making multiple stops along the way. FTL is faster and better for large or fragile shipments, while LTL is more cost-effective for smaller loads that do not require a full trailer.
Yes. For shippers with consistent lanes and regular volume, we set up dedicated carrier assignments and negotiated contract rates. This gives you reliable capacity, consistent service, and often better pricing than spot-market rates. Contact us to discuss a dedicated freight program.
To provide an accurate quote, we need your pickup and delivery locations (city and state or zip codes), the type of freight (commodity, weight, dimensions), any special requirements (temperature, hazmat, liftgate), and your preferred pickup date. The more detail you provide, the faster and more accurate your quote will be.
